The Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - forbade sleeping on the stomach, describing it as the sleep of the people of Hell, when he said: (It is a lie of the people of Hell).  In another hadith, he, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, said: It is the lie that Allah Almighty and the Messenger of him hate, and called all Muslims to sleep on their stomachs.  The right side instead of hellish sleep, which is hated in Islam. With the development of science, studies have proven the validity of the Messenger's words - may God bless him and grant him peace - and that sleeping on the stomach is very damaging to the body, while studies have encouraged sleeping on the right side of the Body. .  body because of the health benefits it brings to the body.

The dangers of sleeping on your stomach for men and women

  • 1. Increased kidney stones. Studies have shown that those who sleep on their stomachs, especially women, make them more likely to form kidney stones, so moving the body during sleep in other ways, left and right, protects the body from stone formation, but sleep on it.  The stomach keeps the body immobile and this causes more stones to be deposited.
  •      2. Weakness of the abdominal muscles, protrusion of the stomach and flaccidity.
  • 3. Arched back over time and tension in the vertebrae of the back.
  • 4. Neck damage and possibly calcification. Due to the inconsistency of the body when sleeping upside down, in addition to the sensation of cramps and contraction of the person's nerves.

Although the fetus is exposed to bruising when sleeping directly on the stomach, sleeping on the stomach is not recommended at all after the third month, especially after the placenta rests on the front wall of the uterus, and here the pressure on the abdomen can lead to its separation.
