How do I know I have a mental illness?

  •      Abnormal Behaviors: The patient may have strange, unusual, or normal behaviors.
  • Social withdrawal:  and means moving away from social events and losing passion for activities that were enjoyed in the past.
  •      Thinking problems: These include problems with memory or concentration, or thoughts and conversations that are hard to explain. a
  • Decreased Performance: The injured person often suffers from an unusually acute decline in their performance in various activities, whether social, academic, or practical, due to difficulty performing required tasks, school failure, or withdrawal from sports. 
  •      Difficulty perceiving reality: The patient may suffer delusions and hallucinations that lead him to feel tangible and palpable things on the ground.
  •      Lack of insight:  that is, the inability to realize the changes that the affected person is going through, whether at the level of feelings, behavior or personality. 
     Other symptoms: These include:
  • Altered sexual drive.
  •  Addiction to certain substances such as alcohol or drugs.
  • Suffer from some physical symptoms without apparent cause, such as: headache and stomach ache. Intense anger or violence and hostility.
  • Difficulty understanding situations and people.

Reasons to see a doctor

     It should be noted that mental illnesses and disorders do not get better on their own if left untreated, and the illness can worsen over time and cause serious problems, so it is recommended to see a doctor for any symptoms of mental illness.
