The Writing District invites creative writers to compete in this year's Short Story Award.
Benefits and advantages
The first prize is one thousand dollars, and the story is published on the site and awarded to the author of the highest ranked entry, based on the opinion of the judges.
There will be two second place prizes of $100 each.
Prize money is transferred to the winning participant's bank account only.
Presentation criteria
The contest is open to writers from around the world, writing in English, who are 16 years of age or older at the time of submission.
The story must be no more than 3,000 words and the word count in the entry must be glossary and accurate.
Entries must be sent by the authors, entries must be made entirely by their authors, any evidence to the contrary will result in the immediate disqualification of the contestant.
An author may submit more than one story, as long as he pays the entry fee for each individual entry.
Entries must not have been published or regularly posted by yourself or posted or disseminated on any website, blog or online forum and must not have won any place in any other contest.
A story that has been shortlisted or shortlisted in other contests may be accepted, as long as it has not been awarded or published.
Simultaneous submission is permitted, but a story will not be eligible if it wins an award elsewhere or is published or scheduled for future publication prior to the date the award is awarded. Please note that entry fees will not be refunded, and entrants must inform the site immediately if their entry or winning a prize has been published elsewhere.

The Contest is not open to employees, teachers, site editors, partner or affiliated companies, officials, anyone associated with the Contest, or their immediate families.
Entries are limited to stories written in English, and translations of short stories originally published in other languages will also be eligible for the competition.
Entry Fee: $15 Multiple entries may be submitted as long as each entry is paid separately and includes a separate entry form.
