The keyboard accumulates a large number of bacteria and germs that can exceed their number as those in the toilet, in addition to the accumulation of dust, hair and other materials, so the keyboard must be cleaned every week, and this can be done.  Following these steps:

•  Disconnect the keyboard from the computer (computer), and remove the batteries, if applicable. Turn the keyboard upside down, shaking it lightly.

• Blow on them to remove crumbs, dust, and other things stuck between the keys.

•  Wipe the keyboard and palm rest with a lint-free cloth moistened with disinfectant, but not excessively, as any excess liquid must be removed before cleaning, and note that disinfectant can be prepared by mixing equal amounts of water and isopropanol alcohol. 

•  Wipe the keyboard with another completely dry cloth to remove any residual moisture.

 *Note: You can use a small vacuum cleaner designed to clean the keyboard, it may be a good choice, no need to use a normal vacuum cleaner; Because you can drag your keys with it and not just dust and dirt.

Cleaning the keyboard from liquids

In case liquid such as cola, coffee or milk is spilled on the keyboard, specific and quick measures must be taken to maintain the keyboard, and these measures are as follows:

•  Shut down the computer immediately, or at least unplug the keyboard.

• flip the keyboard upside down; It prevents the liquid from continuing to penetrate the keyboard so that it does not reach the electrical circuits.

• Gently and gently rocking the keyboard while turning it, clean the keys with a matte cloth.

• Leave the plate upside down overnight to dry.

•      Clean the board of any remaining material.

Dishwasher to clean some keyboards

Some companies produce keyboards that are dishwasher safe, and this feature is an essential feature of the board, here dishwasher is allowed and safe, but most keyboards do not have this feature, because of the heat and water it can damage the board beyond repair, so it should only be cleaned as mentioned in the steps above.
