Florida Life and Health Insurance License Exam Prep

Official state books for pre-licensing exams have a lot of padding. Those who take a pre-licensing course online without the help of a teacher may not know exactly what they need to study in order to succeed. The value you get from this little book is amazing. It tells you pretty much everything you need to know to pass.

I was nervous about purchasing this book due to the lack of reviews for the Florida edition. They had one or two reviews, but they didn't comfort me 100out using this resource instead of the official book. I did not buy the official book and used Mr. Chant's book as the main course material. I passed the exam on my first attempt.

The author summarizes everything down to about 250 pages of material. The remainder of the book is the introduction, glossary, and practice tests. There are some typos and typos here and there often in the testing section. But the rest of the information is presented briefly and directly.

In order to pass the test, you will have to know these 250 pages well, but they are much better than the ~600 pages of the official manual. I spend most of my time on these. Read the article several times. Next, run the tests in the back of the book. I made flashcards with the questions and kept going through them until I not only knew the answer but also why the answer was correct.

Some small issues with the book. There were some errors in the exam part. During the solutions section, the questions are displayed again highlighting the correct answer and a brief explanation of why that answer is correct.

1. This is a waste of space.  He could just list the answers to each question with explanations and memorize a bunch of pages.

2. This wasted space could have been better used to create a few visual aids throughout the book to help the reader better understand the difference between the plans. There are some tables included, but the visual aids and diagrams would have really helped.

3. Some explanations do not match the question asked. It's only happened a few times, but a website that shows each year's version errors should be provided to students. Final Exam #54. The question is about the Uniform Provisions Act, but the explanation talks about the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

4. Some of the answers were wrong. Exam 1 #15. The answer given is insurance companies, but the explanation at the bottom says insurance companies.

I used this as my main study guide, but paid service for some extra test questions. There were some questions about the paid service that I didn't see anywhere in the book. So I studied both these questions and those in the book. I passed 90% of the exam, so I think the book was probably enough to get me to 70%.
